Dr. Michael Akerib

Experience: Dr Michael Akerib leads the training company InnovaX with skills based on twenty years of managerial experience in industry and fifteen years of lecturing and consultancy experience. He has developed and delivered workshops in Strategic Management, Marketing, New Product Development, Decision Making and Scenario Planning. He has held positions as Lecturer or Professor at IMHI (Cornell University / ESSEC program), the Graduate School of Management Lille, the Graduate School of Management Poitiers, the Catholic University of Lyon, Ecole Française des Techniques de l'Information et du Management, City University and the Lausanne Hotel School. His client references include Bank Leu, Greenwich Associates, Arcelor and the Federal Polytechnic School in Lausanne.

Alan Cabelly, Ph.D.
Subject(s) of Focus: Human Resource Management and Leadership
Experience: Prof. Cabelly has been a Human Resource Management faculty member at Portland State University since 1980, and has served as Area Director for the Management/HRM Area since 1997. He speaks, does research, and consults in the areas of Authentic Leadership, Generational Issues in the Workplace, Work-Life Balance, Corporate Culture, Reward Systems, Performance Management, and effective methods of managing human resources. He has taught in PSU’s Professional Development Center since 1982, initiating the Certificate Programs in HRM, and with the Food Industry Leadership Center since 1994.
Alan is active within the human resource profession, having served many roles within the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Northwest Human Resource Management Association (NHRMA), and the Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA). He is the director of the Oregon State Council of SHRM.

Günter Drews
Subject(s) of Focus: Implementation of Business Intelligence Systems, Implementation and Optimisation of ERP Systems, and Project Management
Experience: Professor Drews has served as the founder and leader of TZ-ManagementCockpit at Lörrach. He has also worked with Schitag Ernst & Young as a company officer with statutory authority, management consultant and project manager for mission critical projects. At Digital Equipment Corp he been the leader of a project office, unit manager, program manager and project manager systems engineer. He has also lectured at the following institutions: DHBW Lörrach, DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen, DHBW Mosbach,University Reutlingen and HS Albstadt/Sigmaringen.

Albert G. Elam

Experience: Professor Elam has had a 23 year military career with United States Air Force obtaining the rank of lieutenant colonel and leadership experience living and working in 6 countries. He has been a 28 year partner in a consulting firm specializing in individual and small business financial counseling. He has carried out commercial consultancies in Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, and the USA. He has obtained 31 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, having served as chief financial officer (CFO), and chief administrative officer (CAO) in the transportation and retail industries.

Dr. Robin Gowers
Subject(s) of Focus: Economics
Experience: Dr. Robin Gowers is a senior lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. He worked for four years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, based in the City of London. His time there included work with their Strategic Risk Services group whom helped senior executives identify, understand, assess and manage the business risks they faced across their whole enterprise.
He also worked within their Global Risk Management Solutions and Audit and Business Advisory Services in their Financial Services E-business Groups. These groups were set up in 1999 to focus on meeting the fast growing e-business needs of PwC's financial services clients. While in this position, he developed an in depth knowledge of how e-business was changing the financial services sector and other industries. The majority of work was based around London, but he undertook a number of client engagements in the UK and across Europe.

Dr. Janet Riola Hale

Experience: Dr. Hale is the Senior Lecturer at Texas State University - San Marcos. She has also lectured at the following institutions: McCoy College of Business Administration, DHBW Mosbach and Pan American University. She has worked in the Law Offices of Hale and Hale since 1979.

Dr. Sarah W. Jacobson

Experience: Dr. Sarah W. Jacobson is Professor Emerita in the College of Business at North Dakota State University and a Visiting Faculty member at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. She has served as an organizational and team building consultant for numerous small businesses and not for profit agencies. Her international teaching experience includes that at the DHBW Mosbach in 2001, and from 2006 - 2009. She has also lectured at Lapeenranta Technological University in Finland.

Dr. Stephen Holmes

Experience: Dr. Stephen Holmes has been a lecturer for Intercultural Communication and Diversity Management at the following universities: University of Heidelberg, US American Pepperdine University, Witten-Herdecke University, Universities of Cooperative Education in Mannheim, Akademie für Betriebswirtschaft und Welthandelssprachen (cooperation with the U. of Northumbria) in Mannheim, ESC School of Business (Rennes, France), Pepperdine University (California) a certificate program in diversity management at the University of Dortmund.
As a trainer/coach he has contracted (or still is contracting) to CONTUR (Continental), HSH Nordbank, Daimler, Trumpf, Schreiner, Arbeiterwohlfahrt, Paritätisches Bildungswerk (Bremen), Henkel and the City of Mannheim. He is a member of a consortium of trainers who for the 2007 EU Year of Equal Opportunity participated in the train-the-trainers in diversity management in the countries of the European Union (plus Turkey). He was responsible for Ireland, Estonia, Latvia and Italy. Edward W. Miles
Subject(s) of Focus: Negotiation
Experience: His training and consulting work is in the area of negotiation. He has done work for Accenture, AT&T, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, VLG, the Georgia Tech Building Construction Program, National Training Service of Colombia, and the United States Centers for Disease Control. Prior to coming to Georgia State University, Dr. Miles was on the faculty of the College of Commerce at Clemson University.
Education: Professor Miles received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 1988.

Thomas D. Queisser, Ph.D.

Experience: Dr. Thomas Queisser has been a management professor, strategy consultant, trainer, and educational leader through various phases of his career. He is Director of Troy University’s Heidelberg, Germany Site, and teaches in Troy’s MBA program. He has been a consultant to Fortune 500, government, high tech, and major nonprofit organizations.
During his educational career, he has been Professor of Business and Management at University of Maryland Europe, and Dean of Sacred Heart University – Luxembourg. He has worked as a fulltime researcher, leading sponsored projects at the American Institutes for Research.

Christoph Welter
Subject(s) of Focus: Taxes and Corporate Tax Burden
Experience: In 2005 he joined Ernst & Young in Stuttgart where he is a manager in the Business Tax Advisory Services line. His tax advisory experience covers national and international corporate tax issues, tax optimization concepts, restructuring measures, cross border planning, tax implications of group financing concepts, inter alia. He has an industry focus on automotive industry, manufacturing companies and insurance companies.
Mr. Welter is lecturer for International Taxation at the VWA, Württembergische Verwaltungs- und Wirtschafts-Akademie e.V., Stuttgart as well as lecturer for Taxes and Corporate Tax Burden at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University
